Patch Lining

The Group’s businesses have established themselves as one of the UK’s leading specialists in patch lining, having successfully repaired countless defects without the need for excavating the required area. Unless a drain or sewer has collapsed, most problems including leaks and cracks can be fixed via Patch Lining. By removing the need to excavate the pipe, clients can save time, money and disruption. Patch lining involves a polyurethane resin based liner being prepared to the size of the pipe system before being wrapped around an inflatable packer. This unit is then positioned in place and the stopper is inflated to bond the liner into the pipe. Once the liner has cured, the stopper is deflated and removed from the pipe leaving the liner in place to prove a permanent and structural repair that is even stronger than the pipe itself.

Most pipe rehabilitation works carried out by the Group’s businesses use the patch lining solution, which offers numerous benefits including:

  • Minimal disruption to sewer activity.
  • Structural point repair, repairs only the defect without the cost of having to fully line the whole pipework.
  • Patch lining ensures repair is water tight and seals the pipework from all water ingress on all types of pipe materials.
  • Patch lining repairs enables pipework to pass air tests at pre-adoption stage where joints are displaced or open.

The Group’s businesses’ fleet is one of only a few in Europe to incorporate the latest in truck mounted surface cleaning machines. These specialist truck mounted machines have a forward mounted cleaning head, which incorporates spinning jet heads to produce a cleaning path of 2 metres. Powered by the on board high pressure jetting unit, the jet heads are capable of removing rubber or less stubborn deposits at work rates of up to 2000m2 per hour. The unit also has a powerful on board suction system that is linked to the cleaning head, ensuring that all debris and jetted water is safely removed from the surface into the debris tank. For smaller areas, our team can use small portable units that normally deliver lower pressures for general surface cleaning, however, some of our latest equipment incorporates special units that work up to pressures of 3000 bar for the removal of paint and rust back to bare metal. Our highly experienced crews of PTS certified civil engineering tradesmen enable us to maintain control of our superior quality standards, and the response times that are critical in key projects.
